Save the Date Magnets

Custom save the date magnets with your engagement photo, your names, and your date — printed at 2″×2″ and built to live on a refrigerator until the wedding.

Paper save the dates have one problem: they get filed. Into a drawer, into a stack of mail, into a recycling bin. A magnet goes onto the fridge and stays in your guests' peripheral vision every single day between now and your wedding. That's the entire argument, and it's a good one.

How many to order

Save the dates go by household, not headcount. A 150-guest list is usually 85–100 households. Add 10–15% for the invitations you forgot and the guests who ask for a spare, and most couples land between 100 and 150. If you're also doing reception favors, the 675 Wedding Pack covers both at a better per-unit price than buying the two separately.

When to mail them

Six to nine months before the wedding is standard. Twelve months if you're planning a destination wedding or a holiday-weekend date. Work backward from there: allow 8–10 weeks for proofing and production before your mail date, plus time to address and stamp.

A note on postage

Magnets are thicker than a standard card, so they mail as a non-machinable letter or in a small rigid mailer. Budget a little extra per piece and weigh one at the post office before you buy stamps in bulk. We'll tell you the exact weight of your finished piece when we send your proof.
